HOUSTON, Tex. — Shell Lubricants is honoring the American Trucking Associations’ 2003 National Driver of the Year, Doris Hansen, by donating $500 to her favorite charity, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Shell is also presenting her with free cases of Shell ROTELLA T Multigrade 15W-40 engine oil. Hansen of Lavina, Mont., recently surpassed 3,000,000 miles of accident-free driving and has never had a cargo claim.

Hansen, along with her husband and team driver, John Hansen, has been using Shell products since 1966.

"Shell is extremely proud to have her as a customer, and trucking professionals everywhere should be just as proud to have her as a hardworking, safety conscious representative of our industry," said Chris Guerrero, marketing manager for Shell ROTELLA products. "This is just our way of recognizing her for her many outstanding accomplishments and saying thank you for being such a loyal customer through the years."

Doris attributed her driving success to faith adding, "You do not drive that long and not have an accident without a lot of help from your guardian angel."

She and John currently operate two trucks a 2000 Kenworth W900 and a 1996 Peterbilt 385. Both are powered with Caterpillar C12 diesel engines, which get an oil change every 10,000 miles. Over the years, they also have operated Freightliner and Mack trucks.

The couple is leased to flatbed carrier Quality Transportation, Inc., of Baker, Mont.
