WALCOTT, Iowa — The Iowa 80 Truck Stop will be the site of this year’s Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition, which will attract some of the most glamorous rigs and dogs in pursuit of a place in the popular Shell SuperRigs calendar.

This year’s competition includes a dog beauty contest, named the SuperRigs SuperDog contest. The competition will be held June 5-7. Prizes will be awarded for SuperDog (best looking), SuperTalent (best trick) and SuperTwins (dog and owner who look most alike).

This year’s competition also includes two Tech Talk sessions, where drivers can attend a short presentation and discuss diesel engines with Shell Lubricants experts.

Also at this year’s event are: musical performances by Joey Holiday; a Kevin Harvick show car; a Shell racing simulator; bingo; and other activities. A concert is planned for Friday night. Canadian trucks are welcome to participate in the contest. Cash prizes valued at $25,000 are up for grabs, including a $10,000 top prize for the Best of Show winner. Twelve winners will be selected to appear in the Shell SuperRigs calendar in 2009.

Trucks will be judged based on exterior appearance, design, detail/finish, originality and workmanship. Activities kick off at 9 a.m. June 5.
