SEATTLE, Wash. — ShipLogix has announced it has integrated the Ratemaker freight rating engine from Cass Information Systems to enhance its web-hosted ShipLogix Transportation Execution Platform (STEP).

By using XML integration technology, ShipLogix provides partners and their customers with flexible and seamless access to Ratemaker via STEP for both execution and reporting modes. In execution mode, shipments can be rated in real time as part of an automated process or with a push of the button from STEP. In reporting mode, users can rate batches of shipments. Rates are returned in report form for use in invoicing, auditing, settlement, payment and/or analysis.

In addition to rating, the STEP also includes execution and reporting tools for planning and analysis; optimization; and tender, track and trace technology allowing shippers, carriers and their business partners to collaborate in real time.
