RICHMOND, B.C. — SmarTire Systems has demonstrated its leadership in the global tire pressure and temperature monitoring markets with the securing of its initial European orders.

With customers in Germany, France, Belgium and South Africa for its GenII aftermarket products, the Canadian company says the world has been very receptive to its technology and modular options for in-vehicle display.

The company received a major shot in the arm when the U.S. recently amended the Transportation Recall Enhancement Accountability and Documentation (TREAD) Act. As of 2003, tire pressure warning systems will be required on all new vehicles.
