TORONTO, Ont. — Transportation Media editorial director Lou Smyrlis will be addressing members of the Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Logistics Association (PPCLA) next Thursday on emerging trends in transportation.

Much of Smyrlis’ address will be focused on the results of the first annual Transportation Buying Trends Survey, a collaborative research effort among Transportation Media, the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association (CITA) and the Canadian Institute of Traffic & Transportation (CITT).

The survey clearly shows rising rates and increasing use of surcharges in all modes as well as deep concerns about available capacity. Smyrlis will examine the factors behind the increases and present an outlook for the future.

This presents the first of several speaking engagements Transportation Media will be conducting over the next several months to discuss the results of this important Canadian-based research.

Transportation Media includes Truck News, Truck West, Motortruck, and Canadian Transportation & Logisticgs magazines as well as market directories and online properties serving the information needs of buyers and sellers of transportation services across Canada.
