LONGVIEW, Texas — Stemco has formed a joint venture with Tramec to provide automatic brake adjusters to the commercial vehicle market, the companies announced.

Tramec is owner of the Crewson automatic brake adjuster. The Stemco Crewson product line will feature the patented ‘Auto Check’ feature, which allows fleets to visually determine if a brake is in proper adjustment.

The line will also feature a lubrication system called Cam Guard, which eliminates seizing and corrosion, according to Stemco. Stemco’s 45-member fleet-based technical sales team will support the product line and provide training to customers.

“This joint venture adds Tramec’s innovative brake adjustor to Stemco’s growing brake products group,” said Stemco president Jon Cox. “This will be a great complement to our Stemco Duroline friction offering and is a natural product extension. We are confident that fleet customers will benefit from our high performance braking components matched with Stemco’s extensive training to improve the braking system’s performance and vehicle safety.”
