Suppliers ink deal to distribute NA hybrid systems

TROY, Mich. — European auto supplier ZF Friedrichshafen, an ArvinMeritor affiliate has signed on with ISE Corp., to distribute a line of parallel-electric hybrid drive systems and parts in North America.

The two have entered into a memorandum of understanding outlining the details of the partnership. As part of the agreement, ISE will focus on integration engineering, sales, subsystem assembly and service support for the hybrid systems and components. ISE expects to develop and market an ISE branded parallel hybrid drive system for the North America truck market that incorporates ZF hybrid systems and parts.

ZF has worked on several parallel-hybrid configurations for the transit bus and truck sectors. The North American sales of the ZF hybrid systems will be sold through ISE and jointly marketed by both.

"There is no question that the synergies of this relationship will help accelerate and expand the world wide adoption of commercial hybrid drive systems resulting in substantial environmental and sustainability improvements, along with improved business solutions," said Rick Sander, president and CEO of ISE.
