OTTAWA, Ont. — A soon to be released report from Transport Canada will show 70% of Canadians admit to speeding.

The average driver admits to travelling 12 km/h faster than the speed limit on major highways and 7 km/h faster in residential areas, according to the survey.

Two-thousand drivers were polled as part of the research and 12 focus groups were held across Canada. Most respondents admitted that they considered speeding to be dangerous.
