TORONTO, Ont. — Dan Risebrough of Tandet Dedicated was named the OTA/Shaw Tracking Dispatcher of the Year at the associations annual convention last week.

The annual award goes to a dispatcher who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to customer service, safety, driver well-being, courtesy, teamwork, problem-solving and community work. This years winner has been with Tandet for 18 years, 11 of which have been spent as dispatcher.

He is responsible for dispatching loads for more than 100 drivers who operate across North America. Risebrough is a former professional driver, an experience which has helped him in his role as dispatcher, he said.

Dan was selected for this award not by the management team, but by his peers. says Scott Tilley, president, Tandet Dedicated. It was Dans peers that solicited managements approval for the nomination. It was this group that requested letters from customers, drivers and associates. Upon reading the letters of support for Dans nomination that came in, they did not surprise me as to the nature and respect for the individual. Dan is one of a kind.

Risebroughs co-workers wrote that he possesses a magnitude of abilities. With Dans 30-plus years experience in the trucking industry he is able to provide accurate and almost immediate responses to any inquiry or challenge. He has an uncanny ability to carry a map in his head and can identify an unimaginable amount of locations without researching. He is dedicated to our customers and has developed an extremely good rapport even with the tough to handle.

Risebrough took home a plaque and a cash reward.
