Tandet Kenworth fills truck service void in Ottawa with new dealership

Tandet Kenworth will strengthen its Eastern Ontario position next month when it opens a new truck dealership in Ottawa.

The full service dealership-equipped with a PremierCare facility to service all truck makes and models-will display both new and used trucks. For the past 15 years, the truck manufacturer has been servicing the Ottawa region through its Kingston dealership.

“Our customer base in Ottawa has been requesting for a number of years that we open a branch in Ottawa. It really comes down to a service issue,” said Tandet Kenworth general manager Al Diemert.

Ottawa native Don McInnes will be the new branch manager when the dealership-located at the intersection of Hwy. 417 and Innes Road-opens on Aug. 1.

Diemert said the new facility will open at about half the size of its Kingston counterpart, but added the Ottawa branch will grow to be even larger than its sister dealership in three years. He also added that the 30-year-old Kingston dealership will be replaced with a brand new facility later this year and the company’s other Eastern Ontario dealership in Peterborough will become a larger, full-service branch in about 12 months.
