Teamsters authorize strike against auto haulers

DETROIT (May 18) — Automakers are bracing after members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters authorized a strike against the companies that haul new cars to dealerships .

The vote was 5705-251.

The workers¹ current contract expires May 31. It covers 17 companies, employing 12,000 unionized drivers and other transport workers.
