Ten Percent Rebound on TransCore’s Canadian Freight Index

TORONTO — TransCore Link Logistics’ Canadian Freight Index for May had a healthy 10 percent rebound from the previous month. Compared to May 2012, however, load volumes were 16 percent lower.

Cross-border postings for May averaged 71 percent of total volumes. Down 16 percent from May 2012 were cross-border loads destined for Canada, but cross-border loads headed south showed no change year-over-year.

Intra-Canada load volumes clocked in at 24 percent of May’s total volumes, down 10 percent year-over-year.
