The Notre-Dame-du-Nord Truck Rodeo , cancelled in 2024, is being reborn and will now be known as the Témiscamingue Truck Rodeo, the municipality of Lorrainville announced on its social networks.

Lorrainville is located about 25 minutes by car south of Notre-Dame-du-Nord.

“We have succeeded in setting up a partnership that will allow us to offer municipal land to host this long-awaited event,” says a press release issued by the municipality of Lorrainville, headed by Mayor Jean Martineau.

The new host city insists that it intends to give an even more family-friendly feel to the event, which will of course retain its legendary truck racing.

“It will be a celebration of our culture, our community spirit and our regional pride,” adds the municipality of Lorrainville.

The Facebook post announcing the return of the Rodeo received nearly 130 comments, the vast majority of which were positive, with people congratulating Mayor Martineau’s team.

Others, however, express concerns, some of an environmental nature, others linked to the financial structure of the event.

It is also noted that many are breathing a sigh of relief that the Rodeo remains an event closely associated with the Témiscamingue region. Several people are already offering to get involved in the organization as volunteers.
