BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Thermo King recently hosted a day-long event to hear from customers and showcase solutions.

The event, called “Destination: Driving Efficiency in Transportation,” was held on Oct. 20 at the Thermo King facility in Bloomington. Throughout the day, company leaders presented on topics ranging from meeting industry and regulatory trends to improving energy and operational efficiency and cost of ownership challenges facing transporters.

The company also provided tours of its facility including its global training centre, automated parts distribution centre and Frederick McKinley Jones Research and Development Center, an $8 million facility for the design, testing and evaluation of products, systems and components. It is one of only a handful of similar testing centres in the transportation industry, according to Thermo King officials.

Attendees also were able to visit the Innovation Showcase featuring Thermo King trucks, trailers, auxiliary power units, buses, smart products and aftermarket parts and accessories.

In the afternoon, four key Thermo King end users – including Winnipeg-based New Flyer – gave presentations regarding industry challenges they face as well as their experiences working and collaborating with Thermo King to meet their needs.
