Thirteen lucky number for Cole Hersee
Cole Hersee Co
Cole Hersee Co., a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty electrical and electronic products, will debut its Thirteen Pole Plug and at the Mid-America Trucking Show, next month.
With the implementation of state-of-the-art systems, such as: trailer Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS); trailer temperature, load, and monitoring; on-board weighing; rear vision blind spot correction; and satellite trailer tracking, the Thirteen Pole Plug eliminates the risk of misconnection by enabling operators to connect all trailer circuits with just one plug, the company says.
The Thirteen Pole Plug surpasses SAE J560b performance standards and conforms to the requirement of interchangeability between thirteen and seven pole sockets. The seven standard diameter contacts utilize Cole Hersee’s Spring-Grip design, with a self-adjusting spring band to provide uniform contact with the socket pins. The six small diameter contacts carry up to 25 amps and maintain multiple contact points between the plug and socket. Contacts float for proper engagement with all mating sockets.
The Thirteen Pole Plug adapts to a variety of wiring combinations, including a twisted pair for advanced communication applications. A glass-filled, plastic construction prevents rust and corrosion, and an “O” ring at the plug’s end prevents moisture from reaching the contacts. A strain relief and grommet seal isolate the connections on the terminal from mechanical strain and provide additional moisture protection.
