Vancouver, BC — Concerns for labor demonstrations that could have caused problems at the Vancouver Port Authority have been cleared up.

The Vancouver Port Authority (VPA) reported this morning it has reached an agreement in principle with Aeroguard for security guard services at its two cruise ship terminals, Canada Place and Ballantyne.

Under the new contract, cruise terminal guard services will operate under a new management structure while Aeroguard security guards will continue to operate under their present employment agreement with Aeroguard.

"This agreement should result in the absence of labor action threatened for the coming weekend," reports the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association.
