TrucktireXchange.com, the first business-to-business e-commerce site dedicated to the $9-billion North American tire market, just got rolling.
After a free registration, members are able to access available tire inventory, post their own inventory, or view market reports on pricing and forecasting.
The site may need a little spice in the graphics department, but for those more interested in rubber than eye candy, this is the place to be.
Buyers simply need to click the appropriate link and a step-by-step purchasing guide appears. In one shot, customers can select tire sizes, types, makes, models, and location of the tire within miles of their Zip code. Those still a little nervous about online privacy are guaranteed their postings will remain anonymous until a purchase has been made. Parties are then revealed so payment and pick-up can be coordinated.
Dealers and distributors will find the site especially useful for fulfilling their own customer requests while minimizing inventory space.
