Toronto Transportation Club ready to hit the greens

BOLTON, Ont. — Now that the snow is gone and the grass is turning green, the Toronto Transportation Club is promoting its 2008 Spring Golf tournament, scheduled for Wednesday, May 28.

“This is one of our most popular members’ events and always sells out,” says TTC secretary-treasurer, Andree Baillargeon.

The event will be held at the Glen Eagle Golf Club, as has been done in the past few years. The golf club is located on Highway 50, just north of downtown Bolton. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, at a cost of $165.

“We are making a slight change in the format,” says Baillargeon. “There will be only two foursomes starting at each of the 27 holes. So the round should be under five hours. Make life easy on yourself. Register now and pay online to ensure your spot in this fun event.”

The online form offers payment options. Payment can be made through PayPal. Members do not have to have a PayPal account when supplying credit card information. The Web site for registration in the golf tournament is: http://www.torontotransportationclub.com/events.html.

Since online payment is faster, those paying by cheque should not delay, due to the nature of the first-come, first-served registration, warns the secretary-treasurer. Payment must be received by May 7.

The 2008 Spring Golf Committee is: Neil McKenna, Canadian Tire Corporation; Mike Belgrade, Lakeside Logistics Inc.; Tim Boyce, Canadian Pacific Railway; and Tim Duffy, MSM Transportation Inc.
