TORONTO, Ont. — The Toronto Trucking Association has donated $5,000 towards the purchase of a new truck for the Daily Bread Food Bank. The truck will be used to deliver food to the hungry. The TTA board of directors has also decided to form a subcommittee to help the Daily Bread Food Bank with their on-going maintenance and transportation needs.

It was felt that our knowledge in the industry could be very beneficial for them when moving forward with other transportation issues, the association said in a release. The TTAs board of directors feel this is a very worthwhile cause and we feel we can help make a difference in the community.

The Daily Bread Food Bank is still looking for donations to off-set the cost of the new truck. Armbro Transport, C.W. Henderson and Apps Cartage have also donated $2,000 each towards this purchase. Companies interested in making a donation should contact Annette Paul at the Daily Bread Food Bank at 416-203-0050 ext. 325 or Connie Burbidge at the TTA office at 416-248-6211.
