Toronto, Ontario — Toyota Industrial Equipment, a division of Toyota Canada Inc., announced that Toyota has been ranked the largest supplier of lift trucks in the world for the second consecutive year.

Toyota had $4.23 billion in lift truck sales including companies from around the globe.

Toyota also is the number one lift truck supplier in Canada. According to the 2004 Canadian Lift Truck Survey, third-party research performed in a cooperative effort by trade publications Canadian Transportation & Logistics and Plant Magazine, Toyota forklifts ranked number one among customers and non-customer alike in the categories of Safety, Productivity, Innovation, Reliability, Durability and Overall Lift Truck Manufacturer.

"Toyota Canada is proud to contribute to Toyota’s global efforts. This was an incredible year for us at Toyota and we expect to increase our sales again in 2005," said Rob Reinders, Director, Toyota Canada Industrial Equipment Division. "We attribute this ongoing success to our strong dealer network and the emphasis Toyota puts on safety, customer satisfaction, overall value and technological innovations."
