Traffic congestion will follow bridge work

MONTREAL, Que. — The Jacques Cartier Bridge will be closed to all traffic for deck work next weekend.

The work will begin at 8:30 p.m. on July 18, and last until to 4 p.m. July 21.

The closing will halt traffic between Montreal and Ile Sainte-Helene with only one lane open in each direction.

Also a stretch of Sherbrooke St. between Broadway and Georges V Aves. in Montreal East will be closed for repairs from 7 p.m. July 19, until 8 p.m. July 22 when a single lane will be opened in each direction.

The street will reopen to regular traffic at 6 p.m. July 24.
