Trailer Orders Strong, Cancellations Low This Season

COLUMBUS, IN – North American truckers ordered 25 percent more trailers between October 2013 and April 2014 than over the same period a year before, according to freight forecasters at ACT Research.

“April net orders of 26,390 rose 20 percent year over year,” said Frank Maly, Director – CV Transportation Analysis and Research at ACT.

Most of the strength came from dry and reefer vans.

“Cancellation continued to be insignificant, pointing to firm orders in the backlog. And the backlog is up 30 percent from a year ago,” Maly added.
