HARRISBURG, Pa. — TransCore, the largest provider of load matching services in North America, introduces CarrierWatch, a service to provide shippers and freight brokers with an immediate, online method of validating and monitoring carrier credentials.

At the heart of CarrierWatch is a database that stores key information on more than 25,000 North American motor carriers, and subscribers can search this database using as many as 60 different criteria to find the resources they need. CarrierWatch will help companies responsible for moving truckload freight avoid the risk of using unsafe, unauthorized or underinsured carriers and will reduce the time-consuming paperwork that is normally a part of the hiring process. The service can also serve as a prime source for finding additional equipment capacity.

Twin Modal, a freight broker based in St. Paul, Minn. That currently contracts with more than 17,000 carriers across North America, will use CarrierWatch to maintain up-to-date data on its current network and verify the credentials of potential new carriers.

“For a company our size, it may be a year or even two years between the times we use a particular carrier,” said president and CEO Chip Smith. “Trying to maintain current data on their insurance, equipment and safety ratings, and even their phone and fax numbers, can be a real challenge. With CarrierWatch, we’ll be able to maintain our current data more efficiently and more cost-effectively than we can on our own. It will be a big time saver for our company.”
