TransCore launches DAT

HARRISBURG, Pa.– TransCore, a provider of freight-matching services, has announced enhancements to its DAT Partners service, including debt collection support.

DAT Assurance is a program free of charge to DAT Partner customers that guarantees payment for loads moved through its premium DAT Partners service.

By offering this debt collection support, TransCore becomes the only freight-matching provider to alleviate the issue of non-payment for loads found on load boards, strengthening the market’s confidence in a pre-screened, qualified broker network.

Seventy-two percent of small-to-mid-size carriers do not attempt to collect bad debt. Since carriers have expressed reluctance to use load-matching services due to the risk of non-payment by unknown freight providers, TransCore established DAT Assurance to support its brokers by certifying creditworthiness and guaranteeing carriers will get paid.

“Taking the risk out of doing business with a broker you don’t know sets TransCore apart from their competitors,” said Keith Gibson, president of Integrity Logistics. “We work hard to keep a good reputation in the industry, and TransCore’s DAT Assurance program just made our work a little easier.”

All carriers with an active DAT Partners subscription are eligible to participate free of charge. All a carrier is required to do is register the load with DAT Assurance and provide proof-of-delivery documentation if the freight payment is not received. TransCore will work with the carrier to recover the debt for 120 days. If it is successfully collected, the carrier receives 70 percent of the invoice, and if debt collection is unsuccessful, the carrier receives a $300 credit on their DAT Partners subscription.

“With DAT Assurance carriers can be confident dealing with freight providers and we can increase the number of trucks available for brokers in this tight market,” said TransCore president and CEO John Worthington.

Additional features available with this latest version of DAT Partners include a broker’s days-to-pay score and a tenfold increase in the number of search results. New search algorithms boost searching power so a typical load search that previously displayed 100 results will now generate 1,000 results in the same amount of time.
