TransForce Purchases U.S.-Based Hazen Final Mile
MONTREAL — One of Canada’s largest freight transportation and logistics providers, Transforce Inc., has purchased the U.S.-based delivery service Hazen Final File from Hazen Transport.
Terms of the deal have not been released.
The Taylor, MI operation will remain at its current location. It will be combined with Transforce’s same-day and last-mile delivery operation, Dynamex, but keep its separate brand and network.
Hazen Final Mile was founded in 1992 and provides service to 17 major U.S. markets with annual revenue of more than $45 million, according to Transforce. Customers include several Fortune 500 retailers, manufactures, and distributers in a wide range of industries including automotive, healthcare and home products.
According to published reports, Hazen File Mile has a total of 450 employees and contract drivers while no jobs will be lost as a result of the deal.
Rick Palmer, president of Hazen Final Mile will remain with the organization and report to Scott Leveridge, president of Dynamex.
