MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Shaw Tracking has announced that Transfreight has implemented its Shaw Tracker.

Before purchasing Shaw Tracker, we went through the RFP process to ensure that all our requirements would be met by any technology wed be investing in, said Dan Washington, project support coordinator-procurement, Transfreight. Shaws product met our list of requirements as well as offered future enhancements.

We were looking to increase the visibility we have of our fleet, he continued. Previously, we had no in-truck technology to measure speed, idle times, hard braking, or MPGs. Shaw Tracker provides us with the tools needed to analyze those metrics. Well also be able to measure CO2 emissions, and this will be included in our benchmarking process.

Shaw Tracker offers carriers an effective method of collecting data on operational performance. This allows customers to go back and analyze whats going on out in the field and address potential areas of improvement along the lines of safety, quality, and efficiency based on concrete information, said Mike Ham, vice-president business service, Shaw Tracking.
