Transfreight looks to Ontario for compliance boss

ERLANGER, Ky. — One of the first moves of Transfreight’s recently named CEO – Chris Painter – was to create the position of Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).

The Kentucky-based 3PL provider recently announced that the COO role was given to Areki (Alex) Tsujita, who is based in Kitchener, Ont. In this role, he will head Transfreight’s corporate governance and compliance functions.

Painter himself is a Canadian and recently took over the CEO role from Masao Hara, who was named the company’s chairman. Painter will be based out of the Erlanger, Ky. head office and oversee Transfreight’s group of five North American companies in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Since beginning his Transfreight career in 1997, Painter has held several positions leading both operational and administrative groups. Most recently, he was Chief Development Officer.
