Transportation Media editors nominated for four writing awards

TORONTO, Ont. Transportation Media staff have been nominated for four writing awards at the upcoming Kenneth R. Wilson Awards.

The Kenneth R. Wilson Awards represent the Pulitzer Prize of business journalism.

Executive Editor Ingrid Phaneuf is a finalist in the Best News Coverage category for a Truck News story entitled “Trucker or Terrorist?” Last month Phaneuf won a news writing award from the Truck Writers of North America for her report on the new hours of service legislation.

Editor James Menzies has two nominations, both in the Best Resource/Infrastructure Article category. The Truck News feature entitled “Can a Simple Formula Prevent Rollovers?”, provides an insightful look at the causes of rollovers and what can be done to avoid them. The Truck West feature, entitled “Free Fuel”, examines alternative fuel technologies.

Managing Editor Julia Kuzeljevich is a finalist in the Best Industrial/Manufacturing Article category with her Canadian Transportation & Logistics feature entitled “Stop Right There.” The feature examines how cross-border shipping strategies can best balance risk, cost and service.
