Transportation Situation and Outlook Conference scheduled for June

OTTAWA, Ont. – The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in North America (CILTNA) will hold its Sixth Transportation Situation & Outlook Conference on Monday June 11, 2007 at the Panorama Room of the National
Arts Centre in Ottawa.

This conference is a leadership forum to review and assess the impact of major Global and National issues on the future of the various components of the North American transportation system. Economic, institutional technological, and environmental forces are rapidly evolving and, with them, the changing patterns of Global and North American trade. An assessment of the impact of these developments on present and future of the transportation system is vital for efficient policy, strategic planning, business and sustainable development.

CILTNA will present at the conference the findings of its comprehensive Transportation Situation Outlook Study which is being prepared by experts in the field of transportation and forecasting. The report provides strategic information and covers the future situation to 2025 of the marine, rail and trucking freight traffic flows and assesses the impact of the study findings on the various components of the transportation system. The report will be published at the end of August, 2007.

Eminent speakers will participate in this conference joining an expected 200 international, national transportation related policy makers, executives, managers, and professionals in both the public and private sectors as well as academics involved in the multidisciplinary aspect of transportation and related industries.
