HALIFAX, N.S. — The Centre for Sustainable Transportation has organized an Atlantic Canada workshop in Halifax for Sept. 9, which is the fourth and final cross-Canada consultation.

The workshop, held at the Delta Barrington Hotel, will help move the country’s transportation of people and freight towards sustainability.

Forty industry and government representatives from the region are already registered for the workshop and anxious to discuss and debate options for improvement of the sustainability of transportation.

Participants will also be briefed on developments such as the Kyoto Protocol, fuel supply forecasts, vehicle technology changes and development of new government transportation policies for the future.

The Centre will summarize the findings of the four regional workshops, develop recommendations for improving the long term sustainability of all modes of transportation, and release a comprehensive report to the public this Fall.
