TORONTO, Ont. — Trimac dispatcher Ben O’Hara was named the Canadian Trucking Alliance Shaw Tracking Dispatcher of the Year this morning at Truck World.

O’Hara, based in Sarnia, Ont., was selected from a pool of provincial dispatchers of the year representing provinces across Canada. The award goes to a dispatcher who has demonstrated a commitment to customer service, safety, driver well-being, courtesy, teamwork, problem-solving and community service.

“Dispatchers play a vital role in road safety,” said David Bradley, CEO of the CTA. “It is an honour to recognize a dispatcher who is highly-regarded by both the drivers he dispatches and the company’s customers.”

O’Hara has been a dispatcher for 17 years six of them with Trimac Transportation. He is responsible for a fleet of 33 owner/operators each day. His fleet transports liquid bulk products to destinations throughout North America.

He received the award because of his outstanding customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with the branch’s owner/operators, organizers said.
