Trimac president changes lanes

CALGARY — Canada’s largest bulk commodities hauler has announced that its president & CEO, Terry Owen, will leave the company “to pursue other interests.”

However, Trimac Income Fund, holding company of Trimac Transportation Services, says that Owen will remain with the carrier until December 31, 2007. Until then, in addition to his normal responsibilities, Owen will be participating in the transition of the position.

It is expected that Chairman Jeff McCaig will assume the duties of CEO upon Owen’s official departure.

Owen has been with Trimac and predecessor companies as a senior executive since June 1994 and “has made an outstanding contribution to the success of Trimac over this period,” the company said in a release. “He has played a key role in the creation of shareholder value through the planning and
implementation of major corporate transactions.”

Trimac is listed at No. 14 on Today’s Trucking’s 2007 Top 100 For-Hire Carrier list.
