Truck News, Chevron issue industry challenge

TORONTO, Ont. — We know times are tough, business is slow and discretionary spending has been slashed.

But if you think times are tough for the trucking industry, just imagine what five-year-old Cole has been through.

Cole was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when he was one year old. Over the next two years he spent almost 200 nights in hospitals, underwent 111 rounds of chemo, had four surgeries and 14 blood transfusions. His last round of chemo was Apr. 17, 2007 and if all goes well, he will be declared cured in April of 2010.

Cole really wants to experience a Disney Cruise – and we hope to grant him that wish. All proceeds from this year’s Truck News/Chevron Charity Golf Tournament on June 16 will go towards making Cole’s dream come true, through NAL Insurance’s Trucking for Wishes and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

We still have a few more foursomes left to sell. So please consider joining us for a great day on June 16.  Besides supporting a great cause, you’ll get to enjoy a round of golf at the famous Wooden Sticks Golf Course, network with key industry players (let’s face it, anybody who’s anybody will be there) and have a great time. If you can’t make it on June 16, there are still some sponsorship opportunities available and/or we would welcome a prize donation.
