BOWMANVILLE, Ont. — The Natural Resource Canada FleetSmart program will launch its new six-week initiative to curb truck engine idling today at the Fifth Wheel truck stop in Bowmanville today.

The Idle-Free Quiet Zone will not only cut down and the harmful environmental effects and provide better quality air, but will allow drivers to find a quieter place to sleep.

Truck stop managers want their businesses to become destination stops for truckers and any who are willing to declare idle-free zones in their parking lots will receive resource materials and promotional tools from FleetSmart.

There are 18 Canadian truck stop participants already. For further information, contact Madeleine Middleton at 613-947-8381.
