Roland Mullen passed away

The industry is mourning Roland O. Mullen, the founder of Mullen Group, who died on Jan. 10 at the age of 93.

Mullen’s journey began in 1949 with a single truck, operating as a sole proprietor. Over the decades, his ‘unwavering love’ for the trucking industry, tireless work ethic, and “never quit” attitude transformed that modest start into one of Canada’s leading transportation and logistics companies, the company said in a statement, adding that Mullen built his business on integrity, earning respect across the industry.

“He was ‘old school’, in that he remained a man of his word throughout his 93 years,” the statement reads. “His legacy will forever be engrained in the Mullen Group culture – be successful, but always be fair and treat everyone with respect.”
