TORONTO, Ont. — Truck News’ recently revamped Web site, www.trucknews.com, was named one of the top five Canadian business Web sites at the 2006 Kenneth R. Wilson Awards June 5.

The prestigious awards, presented annually by the Canadian Business Press, recognize excellence in trade and business journalism in Canada. The awards are divided into writing, visual and Internet categories.

The trucknews.com Web site has undergone considerable changes in recent months, after Truck News’ team of editorial and web experts sought out new ways to better serve their online readers. In addition to a newer, sleeker look, trucknews.com now includes the “Fast Facts” box, (providing a plethora of transportation industry statistics); the “Feature of the Week” box (providing valuable technology updates, spec’ing info and other helpful tidbits); and the “Coming Soon” box (providing readers with a sneak peek at upcoming editorial content from the print version of Truck News). As well, the trucknews.com “Editor’s Blog” became an industry first when it was launched in February, as the only blog commentary offered by editors of any trucking publication in North America.

Trucknews.com’s top five finish has encouraged the web team to continue to make even more improvements in the coming months ahead.
