EDMONTON, Alta. — After passing on its last opportunity to host the popular trucking trade show Truxpo, the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is prepared to give it another go.

The AMTA postponed the 2003 event because of lack of interest.

AMTA executive director Kim Royal says the association’s decision to resume hosting the show every second year (it currently alternates between Alberta and B.C.) is based on a strong acceptance among Alberta-based exhibitors.

He says previous concerns exhibitors may have had are being addressed and the association will deliver better value to exhibitors which should result in a better overall show. Truxpo is Western Canada’s largest trucking trade show and routinely brings in more than 10,000 visitors when hosted by the BCTA.

The AMTA is confident this year’s event will replicate that success. It’s being held at the Northlands Agricom in Edmonton, Alta. Sept. 22-24, 2005. For more information, contact the AMTA’s Peter Vaudry at 403-214-3438. Truxpo will be the only major trucking trade show to be hosted in the four western provinces in 2005.
