TST Overland to expand Winni-Minne gateway

WINNIPEG — TST Overland Express expects to improve transit times on lanes in the Midwest by up to two days with the opening of a new terminal to serve the Winnipeg – Minneapolis, Minn. corridor.

The company says a regional distribution hub in Minneapolis is key to the continuing development of services between Western Canada and the U.S., particularly the Midwest.

"This current move is just one more step in strengthening our LTL network across North American," says president Rob O’Reilly. "We made a commitment to making service improvements for our customers– and we are delivering."

He said there are two key factors at the core of the transportation network improvements — to reduce freight handling and transit times with direct line-haul, and to implement proprietary technology designed specifically for management of route and cross border activity.

It is the third time in the last six months, that the Mississauga, Ont.-based carrier has expanded its transportation network.

Last month it announced plans for a new 52-door cross-dock terminal in Calgary to triple its capacity in western Canada.
