UAP buys up 18 Palmer Truck Parts stores
MONTREAL, Que. — Parts distributor UAP has acquired 18 Palmar Truck Parts stores from Uni-Select.
Employees and the stores will gradually be integrated into the Traction stores network and three TW Distribution Centres of UAP’s Heavy Vehicle Parts Division, according to officials.
“These new stores will allow UAP to better serve our current and future clients thanks to a stronger presence in several regional markets, notably Quebec, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces,” said Robert Hattem, president and COO of UAP. “We have put the customers of these stores and their satisfaction at the hearth of all our decision-making in order to provide them with the best service of our industry and ensure a smooth transition and integration of the new stores.”

In my opinion uni came in and bought palmar not knowing the business and tryed to make it run and work the same as there auto parts business and screwed up a very good well managed profitable company (palmar inc.) And once they acknowledged they did that ( oh wait they never did admit that ) instead they turned around a sold it ,having no hear nor there about all the employees lives and careers they destroyed …it really does push me off and it’s sad what little attention the people that worked there got and the predicament it left them in .
