UK truckers take to the streets over fuel prices

LONDON, Ont. — North American truckers aren’t the only ones fuming about high diesel prices. UK truckers were so fed up with the increases last week they took to the streets.

More than 200 truckers staged a fuel price protest last weekend, driving into the Cardiff city centre and blasting their horns.

Other demonstrations were planned but called of when the British government said it would review plans for a 1.9p-a-litre fuel tax rise in September.

However the Eye for Transport news service reports that Scots truckers plan to go ahead with a massive demonstration in Edinburgh on June 15th.
