UPS honors Canadian driver milestone

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — UPS’ first female driver in Canada is celebrating 25 years, and 540,000 km, of accident-free driving this month.

Kathy Cianci, of London, Ont. is UPS Canada’s most senior female driver among its 2,230 full and part-time drivers. She has delivering more than one million packages for the company.

Cianci also the first Canadian woman inducted into UPS’s “Circle of Honour,” an elite group of 4,202 active UPS drivers worldwide who have steered clear of accidents for 25 years or more.

“I am extremely proud to be a driver for UPS,” said Cianci. “With more cars on the road and increased distractions, it is critical to practice safe driving habits.”

She credits her safe driving record to UPS’s driver training program which includes being attentive to those around you, being responsive to sudden changes, and being defensive by driving with safety in mind.
