Utility to make roll protection standard on reefers

Trailer roll stability protection from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC on the 3000R base model refrigerated trailers. CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA – Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company says roll stability protection will come as standard equipment on its 3000R base model refrigerated trailers, starting in January 2015.

Craig Bennett, senior vice president sales and marketing for Utility, said Utility is the first trailer manufacturer to include roll stability as standard on refrigerated trailers.

“Trailer roll stability systems can dramatically improve a fleet’s safety, and we believe that the technology is ready to begin integrating this specification as a standard and not as an optional feature,” he said.

The roll stability protection system is manufactured by Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC. Utility will be using the Bendix TABS-6 Advanced, with Bendix Trailer Roll Stability Program (TRSP).

The system combines anti-lock braking (ABS) with a set of trailer sensors, which monitor stability and can quickly and automatically trigger braking intervention when detecting conditions that may lead to a trailer rollover. It is available in single-channel (SC) and optional multi-channel (MC) configurations.
