ELYRIA, Ohio — Utility Trailer has added the Bendix ASA-5 automatic slack adjuster as standard equipment on all new trailer models.

The Bendix ASA-5 slack adjuster, featuring patented and exclusive bronze bearing rings on the spline gear and durable clutch geometry, exceeded SAE’s 200,000-cycle durability test standard, according to the company. The products seals and lubricants have also proven to resist external moisture and contaminants that can cause premature wear-out, officials said.

Utility Trailer has a history with the Bendix ASA-5 on its flatbeds and dry freight vans, but this announcement was a first for Utility’s refrigerated vans and Tautliners.

“Utility Trailer and Bendix share a common drive to continually improve the value and quality we provide for our respective customers,” said Stephen Bennett, vice-president of purchasing, OEM and aftermarket, Utility Trailer. “We recognize the Bendix automatic slack adjuster as a premium component with a proven history of dependable, long service life, and one that enhances our entire mix of trailer offerings.”
