Volvo AB names Karlsten president; Gigou returning to Europe
GOTEBORG, Sweden (May 19, 2003) — Volvo AB of Sweden has appointed Peter Karlsten president of Volvo Trucks North America, replacing Michel Gigou.
Karlsten, 46, is currently president of Volvo Trucks in Brazil. He will assume his new position on Oct. 1.
Gigou will return to Europe, Volvo said. He will, however, continue to serve as chairman of Mack Trucks, of which he was previously the president.
