Volvo kicks off the year with record sales

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Mar. 22, 2005) — Volvo Trucks North America saw huge demand for its heavy-duty trucks in January and February.

The truckmaker dashed out of the gates quickly for the start of 2005. While the Swedish OEM improved European sales, the North American market was especially bullish, as the company delivered 5,018 trucks in the first two months of this year — up 63 percent compared to the same period last year.

The company delivered 16,135 trucks worldwide in January and February, up 31 percent compared to last year.
