GREENSBORO, N.C. — Both Volvo and Mack have announced changes to their executive teams. Ron Huibers has been named president of North American sales and marketing for Volvo Trucks, while Kevin Flaherty has been given the same title under the Mack Trucks banner. The appointments, effective Jan. 1, will see Huibers and Flaherty responsible for the commercial activities of their respective companies.

Huibers has been with the Volvo Group for more than 15 years, and served most recently as senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Volvo Trucks in North America. Flaherty has been with the company for 38 years, and has served since 2001 as senior vice-president for the US and Canada. Both individuals will continue to be based at the company’s headquarters in Greensboro, N.C.

They will both continue to report to Dennis Slagle, who as part of a recently announced reorganization has been promoted to Volvo Group’s executive vice-president for trucks sales and marketing in the Americas. In this position, Slagle will oversee the commercial activities of all the Volvo Group’s truck brands in North and South America.
