Western fuel haulers accept safety awards
CALGARY — The Canadian Petroleum Products Institute (CPPI) has recognized four of the safest petroleum transportation companies in Canada.
The carrier safety awards recognize western division contracted carriers for reduction in incident frequencies versus the pervious calendar year; overall safety performance in performance of their responsibilities; and promotion of driver and fleet safety within the transportation industry.
Ted Stoner, vice-president of CPPI handed out awards to: Westcan Bulk Transport for the “Improvement award for reduced product mixes.”
The improvement award for reduced product spills went to Paul’s Hauling; while Trimac Transportation won for the improvement award for reduced vehicle accidents, as well as the improvement award for reduced personal injuries.
The award for best overall carrier who excelled in all safety performance areas was Scamp Industries Ltd.
Collectively, these carriers made over 217,492 deliveries in 2006 on behalf of CPPI member companies in Western Canada.
The CPPI is a national association of Canadian refiners and marketers of petroleum products.
