WINNIPEG, Man. — Winnipeg-based Beaver Truck Centre bested 31 of 34 Canadian Volvo dealerships to capture the bronze Symbols of Excellence Award presented by Volvo Trucks Canada. Beaver Truck Centre scored 93 of a possible 100 points to claim third place in the second year of the annual competition.

The entire staff should be very proud of themselves on what theyve accomplished by receiving a bronze award, said Barry Searcy, president of Beaver Truck Centre. Its virtually impossible to get 100.

The criterion for the Symbols of Excellence Award is based on standards for the overall appearance and operation of the dealership. Categories include new and used truck display, signage, marketing parts availability, employee appearance and hours of service. Virtually all areas of the dealerships operation come under scrutiny, with each department receiving an individual score to go towards a total combined score for the dealership.

This wasnt a me award; its a they award, Barry said. Its the entire staff that made it possible for us to win this award. Im very confident we can win first next year. We have the best dealership employees in Canada.
