Winter road opened to light traffic

YELLOWKNIFE, N.W.T. — The Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk ice road was opened to cars and other light vehicle weighing up to 4,000 kilograms on Dec. 4.

The Department of Transportation is advising motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour and watch for crews and equipment working on the road.
