B.C. Roadbuilders fear Ministry cuts
VANCOUVER, B.C. — The president of the B.C. Roadbuilders is concerned that layoffs are on the way within B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation.
Jack Davidson is cautioning the Ministry that if laying off employees due to government cutbacks is necessary, they should be very careful about how they go about doing so.
He also suggests the Ministry retain any experienced workers for future work, if possible.
Recently, Transportation Minister, Judith Reid, said she was considering allowing private investment in the province’s roads.
While Davidson says that may help matters, he says there will be a steep learning curve in the meantime.
